Selection Tool (Shortcut S)

With the selection tool you can cut out a part of the image and create a selection from it. This part can be deleted, copied and pasted over the same or another image. For more information about selections see the "About Selections" chapter.

When a selection is made then the image is cut out from the original image. You can hold the Alt key to prevent this. If you hold down Shift key wile drawing the selection the selection will be equilateral.
